For Quadriceps Tendon Reconstruction

The QuadsTape System comprises a wide, open weave Poly-Tape implant (30 mm x 800 mm) with associated disposable instrumentation to repair a ruptured quadriceps tendon, without the need to harvest autogenous tissue.

Indications

The use of the 30 mm x 800 mm Poly-Tape for quadriceps tendon repair is particularly recommended in the following types of cases:

  • Where the diagnosis of rupture is delayed
  • Where prolonged immobilization would be undesirable
  • Patients who have a total knee arthroplasty in situ
  • Where a previous patellectomy has been performed
  • Complex patellar fractures

Malleable Probe with eye, stainless steel, 20 cm (supplied sterile)

How does it work?

Quads Tape System
  • 1The proximal ends of the Poly-Tape are knotted
  • 2The Poly-Tape is passed through the quadriceps tendon
  • 3Tacking sutures are used to stabilize the Poly-Tape
  • 4Both ends of the Poly-Tape are proximally crossed anterior to the patella
  • 5The Poly-Tape is passed transversely through the proximal end of the patellar tendon
  • The proximal ends of the Poly-Tape are knotted1
  • The Poly-Tape is passed through the quadriceps tendon2
Quads Tape System
  • 3Tacking sutures are used to stabilize the Poly-Tape
  • 4Both ends of the Poly-Tape are proximally crossed anterior to the patella

  • Use of metalwork and wire cerclage is unnecessary, avoiding the associated high complication rate and problems of secondary removal
